Co-op
I have a suggestion...
Constructive feedback and discussion are key to our Co-op’s success. In order to foster smooth sailing for all and allow the Leader(s) to enjoy playing the game itself, please do offer your comments (or “suggestive” questions), but save them for the last day or two of the regatta. Politely and clearly share your ideas in Chat where the team can interact with you on the topic as changes affect us all. If you are unsure about how something may be received, please use the Contact form to contact the Leader privately. Suggestions are best received from players who have been a part of Co-op for at least a few days and who have thoroughly perused this website (and especially this FAQ) for applicable information.
How do I know if I would be a good candidate for Aphrodite’s Piers?
- You can fluently read and write in English.
- You are friendly, interactive, and have a good sense of humor.
- You’re 18+. (We can be a rowdy group, so adults only, please!)
- You’ve read the Co-op Guidelines in full and feel comfortable abiding by them.
- You typically complete 15-16 tasks and 10 tasks feels easy.
- You like to win, but don’t care about leaderboards.
- You're more interested in teamwork than status titles.
- You enjoy the game and learning to play it more effectively.
- You generously help other players and frequently make requests in turn.
- You value purposeful structure and communication in a Co-op.
Why AphRodite?
While she is perhaps most known as the goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite has merits as a goddess of the sea. She personifies the generative powers of nature and in mythology is considered to be the mother of all living beings. Legend says that after rising from sea foam, Aphrodite took a walk along the coast and as she was walking flowers sprang up under her feet. In one account, Aphrodite metamorphosed herself into a fish, an animal that was considered to possess the greatest generative powers. Because she was born of the ocean, she was considered to have influence over it and it’s bounty.

What do you mean by "moderately Competitive co-op"?
This term was originally acquired from the Township Forums when choosing where to advertise for Co-op recruitment. For Aphrodite’s Piers, it means that we do not concern ourselves with our position on the Global Leaderboards nor trying to place in the top 3 every race. One of this Co-op’s goals is to create a place where players can feel comfortable having a long-term membership with the ebb and flow of life. This applies to our choice to be “moderately competitive” as well as to have tiers of participation. Learn more about our Co-op goals.
How long has this co-op been around?
Aphrodite's Piers was founded by Firenze on Monday, June 5, 2017. But to precisely answer your question:
Can I be automatically emailed new Announcements?
Yes, click here to sign up for updates. You can unsubscribe at any time. Your information will be used for this purpose only and will be protected and not sold. Please note that emails are automatically sent at 4 PM EST after the post is published.
Why was I “demoted”?
This Co-op uses the Member and Elder status options to indicate a Member’s most recent activity level. The Elder status and responsibilities are assigned to a player who has participated in at least two regattas and the completed the maximum number of tasks in the most recent one. Should subsequent regatta results yield fewer than the maximum tasks, the status may be changed to Member. This is not intended to be punishing, but to encourage high participation and allow the most active members to monitor the Task Journal. If you believe you were demoted or denied promotion in error, please make a polite request in Co-op Chat – no one is “owed” a promotion and we’re only human.
Why was I "kicked"?
The space for a kick message is very short so our explanations are often minimal, but should be clearly stated as a failure to comply with Guidelines or as not a good fit for our team culture. If you did not receive any kick message, it may have been an accidental kick. If so, someone in the team may have already sent you an invitation to return. If you did not receive a kick message nor an invitation, please let us know using the Contact form.
WHAT EXACTLY AM I RESPONSIBLE FOR READING? DO I HAVE TO READ 99 CHAT MESSAGES?
Great question! Communication is fundamental for the ongoing collaboration of our Co-op so we do require our members to be responsible for keeping up with relevant Co-op information (but not 99 random Chats!):
- In-Game Leader Messages. Leaders send important messages through the Co-op building that are required to be read. Your will see a red exclamation mark and/or an envelope icon next to the Co-op Chat and can read the message in the Inbox tab of the Co-op Building window.
- Co-op Guidelines are required to be read. Major changes are announced through in-game messages.
- Announcements are required to be read. Whenever one is posted on the website, it’s immediately followed with a notice through the in-game Leader Message feature. If you want these Announcements automatically emailed to you, you’re welcome to sign up for that as well (though that part is not required).
- Chat. We do expect that our members interact as needed in Chat, but you will never be expected to go back and read 99 Chat messages. Some of us do because we like to catch up (and let’s face it — it’s fun to be nosy and catch up on missed chatter). While you’re not held responsible for this information, it can be helpful to skim through or at least ask if you’ve missed anything important. You can safely rely on in-game Messages for team goals/guidelines updates (as long as you read Announcements when directed).
IS THERE SOMEWHERE OUTSIDE OF THE GAME WHERE WE CAN INTERACT?
Yes! Members can join our Township forum group and/or our Facebook group for discussions, resources, and small talk. Be sure to let us know in Chat what your name is in the forums (especially if it’s different from your Town’s name), so that we accept your request to join the group.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I'M UPSET WITH SOMETHING IN THE CO-OP?
We politely request to be offered the opportunity to clarify any confusing situations or make right any issues that we can. Please do let us know in Chat or through the Contact page that you are upset or simply ready to move on before leaving. Of course, we cannot make you do so, but it is important to us to try manage to the benefit of the team and that means also listening to the individual. On the other hand, sometimes being a Leader means making an executive decision now and then. Please give us the benefit of the doubt. Not every person will be happy all the time, nor is this Co-op suited to every kind of player. Still, we want to host a positive atmosphere. Finally, this is a game so let's remember that to give context to any issues that might arise.
Regatta
What if I have a surprise emergency that inhibits participation?
You are encouraged to communicate with the Co-op about any struggles with tasks as we are all happy to help supply you with prep items and be on standby to fill crates. We understand that you are human and life isn't predictable. Let us know what's going on as soon as you can so we can work together to keep you on the team. Sometimes we may encourage you to opt out and take a break from the next race. Extenuating circumstances will not be taken into account for Status updates.
If a true emergency arises, more than likely you will not be able to communicate with us and if so, we may remove you because we don't know what happened. Whenever you return to the game, you are welcome to send a new Application explaining the situation. (The Application is necessary because it is the first criterion for reviewing in-game requests to join the Co-op. A request without a recent and matching Application is automatically rejected).

When should I opt out?
Any time you cannot confidently plan to complete the minimum number of tasks for that week (see Guidelines). This could mean when you have other plans or if you're simply needing a break.
The opt out option should not be used indefinitely. Maintaining a roster of active players is important for AP. If you are opting out often or for more than two consecutive weeks, you need to contact your Leader to let us know your plans to return to active or you may be kicked at leadership's discretion.
Wondering how often you've opted out? Check My Record Calculator in the Team Stats doc.

How do I opt out?
Click the gear at the top left of your screen then the "Additional Settings" button. Uncheck the "Participate in Regatta" button. You must opt out before the race that you wish to skip; if a regatta is in progress, you will not be opted out nor lose your rewards for that race. To opt back in, simply re-check the box. In the same manner, it will opt you in to the next race that starts.
DO YOU REQUIRE THE PURCHASE OF A 16TH TASK?
The 16th task is available for purchase for 10 T-cash and we do not require it for membership. However, you will notice that many do so voluntarily (usually after earning T-cash for free) and it is always appreciated. 16th tasks can make a significant difference in maintaining Golden League status, earning all rewards, and especially winning top 3.
WHY AREN’T MORE TASKS OR THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF TASKS REQUIRED?
This is a moderately competitive Co-op. Our top priorities are fostering a fun play environment, maintaining Golden League status, and earning 9/9 rewards. Allowing some wiggle room in task achievement (except in the cases of Golden Sail attempts) helps encourage our wonderful team members to stick around even when life gets busy.
Can I reserve a task? Why not?
The reservation system has been suspended indefinitely in order to foster a more collaborative atmosphere and ever-changing Task Journal. This means that all Regatta tasks are free for all. We encourage you to actively prep, communicate about what you have ready, and monitor Chat to see what others may be ready for. If you've prepped for a task, jump on it quickly as it will not be guaranteed, even if you’ve communicated interest.
Am I expected to do more than the minimum task requirement?
AP will always encourage members to complete 15-16 tasks even though the minimum requirement for membership is 10 tasks. We want to encourage high-performance without losing our players when they have a busy week! Basically, complete at least 10 tasks worth 130+ points... and as many more tasks as you can while still enjoying yourself. As always, you will need to continually complete 15 tasks to maintain Elder status.
(Psst... sometimes this page takes a while to be updated: be sure to get the latest requirements on the Guidelines page.

Why do some of the pages look funny on my mobile device?
I know! I'm so sorry that some of the pages are not easily viewed on mobile. I've done what I can with this free theme on a free platform... it is technically supposed to be "mobile responsive." Most mobile devices give you the option to "Request Desktop Version." Choosing this option might make the site a bit easier to read. Thanks for understanding.
HOW MANY SUPPLIES DO I NEED FOR…?
- Please see the Township Wiki for reference information on the Barn, Community Buildings, Factories, Houses, Decorations, Special Buildings, Zoo, and more. You may also appreciate the information found on our Tips and Resources page.
Why aren’t FAQ questions organized by...?
I am working within the confines of a free app made for a free website; the most apparent downfall is the inability to quickly organize questions by dragging and dropping, much less alphabetization. I would love to make this FAQ easier for your use, so you are welcome to send constructive ideas. Please note that I might not take the time to explain if the suggestion is not viable.
Will you add the ability to “search” through this website?
This is a free website and the easy feature for searching within it requires a paid subscription. To search a specific page, use your browser’s “Find” feature (often shortcut with CTRL+F or CMD+F). If you'd like to search within a specific site such as this one, you can learn how to do so using Google.
Why does it matter whether or not i make requests?
We do not require a certain number of requests, but we encourage you to mark as many crates for help as you can, unless you're in a hurry for a regatta task. Here's why:
- Algorithms. There is some speculation that requesting (and receiving) help will "tell" the next train not to be more difficult in its item requests.
- Achievements. Many players pursue Achievements with T-cash rewards (and Town Hall Stats) that require a certain number of "shares" and your requests are needed to help attain them.
- Clover Supply. Whether or not you choose to pursue a collection of clovers, many of your fellow players do! By regularly requesting help you aid other players in acquiring the currency needed to play at the House of Luck.
